Logging into the system
To proceed to any of the areas of the online application, you need to enter
your login and password , provided either by AWUL or your Agency Administrator. If you can’t remember your login and/or password, please contact AWUL at wipinfo@awul.com
Accessing any of the resources in the online application requires the
presentation of “credentials” to the system in order for the system to recognize you as a unique
individual. For now we use a login and password scheme (at least until a cheap retinal
scan system becomes ubiquitous!) to identify individual users in the system.
Logins are usually related to the User’s name and the password is assigned either by AWUL or by an administrator at
the Agency to which the user belongs. Both AWUL and the Agency Administrator can
edit logins and passwords, however they do not know what the passwords are
(they can only change them,) so you can use any password that you like.
We strongly recommend that you do not share your passwords with anyone else.
If someone does have your login and password and logs in as you, you would be
identified as the person making changes within the system and would be
responsible for those changes. We recommend periodically changing your password to
minimize any risks associated with stolen passwords.
Once you provide the system with a login name and password you will be logged
into the system and will have access to the Submission and Document Production
areas. The system remembers your credentials as you navigate through web pages,
however if you are inactive for more than 15 minutes, it will assume that you
have forgotten to log out of the system and will log you out! This could cause
problems if you did not save the last change you made, so remember to save
periodically (especially before getting up from an editing session) and log out
when you are done.
