Displaying Up to date Information
Please note that by default both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator are setup to
store local copies of pages to speed up viewing (this is known as caching.) This can
cause many problems with this application, by displaying old or invalid information
even after changes have been made to Users, Agencies, Submissions or Documents. In order
to use this application accurately, please make sure that you have the following settings
in your browser:
Internet Explorer 4.x
- Choose View -> Internet Options from the menu
- Choose Settings in the Temporary Internet Files frame
- For the setting labeled "Check for newer version of page", choose "Every Visit to Page"
- Click Ok
- Click Ok
Internet Explorer 5.x
- Choose Tools -> Internet Options from the menu
- Choose Settings in Temporary Internet Files frame
- For the setting labeled "Check for newer version of stored pages", choose "Every visit to the page"
- Click Ok
- Click Ok
Internet Explorer 7.x
- Choose Tools -> Internet Options from the menu
- Choose Settings for Temporary Internet Files under Browsing History.
- For the setting labeled "Check for newer version of stored pages", choose "Every time I visit the webpage"
- Click Ok
- Click Ok
Netscape Navigator
- Choose Edit -> Preferences from the menu
- In the Category window on the left, choose Advanced, then Cache
- For the setting labeled "Document is compared to document on network:", choose "Every Time"
- Click Ok
This will ensure that you are always viewing up to date information.
These are required changes. If you do not make these changes, you will experience periodic errors and incorrect information in this application!
